Ashley Miller with Hall Events put on a beautiful rustic inspired christmas party and we were so excited to join in the fun. Ashley created beautiful table decorations from wine bottles and yarn that I couldn’t help but want to take home. Personalized mason jars added a warm and inviting feel to the scene, and it’s always fun to find your name on a little tag tied to your glass. The evening started out with champaign and smashing hors d’oeuvre, lots of great company and fun conversation. This was followed up with a very tasty baked brie, gourmet soup in mugs, and fantastic homemade meat balls. A dinner party wouldn’t be complete without dessert so we saved just enough room for a slice delightful pecan pie. Ashley have I mentioned that pecan is one of my favorites? Thank you Ashley and Erin for such a wonderful evening and for creating a beautiful set up.

Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah everyone! Last year’s holiday cards were fake mustaches and goofy glasses. This year Brett decided to rock his own mustache and I had to up the stakes with a ridiculous pair of purple pants. We really wanted to come up with something that would make people laugh this year and after a few calls and some thrift storing we came up with this. Kristen at White Wedding Day came to our aid and found us the amazing ski sets and shaggy rug at their rental house. When it came time to choose what photo would win the prize of making the front of our card we just couldn’t choose. We just loved them all, so we sent out all our favorites. Enjoy the series and we hope that everyone has a fantastic New Years!

Are you ready for the outtakes?
We love shooting engagements but are rarely privilege to take part in that moment when a man asks his one and true love to become his co-pilot on the adventure we call life. So we were incredibly nervous and excited to accompany Jesse and Courtney on a beautiful sail boat excursion where Jesse would ask Courtney one of the most important questions of his life. It was to be a total surprise for Courtney so it took a lot of planning on Jesse’s part to allow all of us onto the boat without hinting at what was to come.
The day was absolutely perfect. The sometimes rare December sun not only graced us with its presence but warmed up the day nicely taking off the chill we expected on the sail boat. After a short dingy ride out to the boat, our experienced Captain Robert hoisted up the anchor, let loose the sails and tacked us into the wind and out to the Silver Strand.
The first part of our sailing adventure was topped with Jesse and Courtney’s proposal, which went off smashingly. The second half of the trip became photo time! Captain Robert was just fantastic and unhooked the zodiac from the ship and took Brett out on the water to get some breath taking shots from afar. I think they had almost as much fun zooming around on the water as Jesse and Courtney had watching the world from the bow of the boat. Thanks Jesse and Courtney for entrusting us with your special moment, it was so amazing to capture your first day as an engaged couple. Also without a boat it would have been all of us floating around in a kayak so a big thanks to Capt. Robert for helping to make this all happen. We loved sailing on your beautiful boat the Babayaga.
