Solana Beach, is a great little town along the Historic 101 highway with an abundance of beautiful locations for engagement photos. We love when our couples think of fun ways to incorporate unique activities that have special meaning to them into their portraits. Kian and Stephanie are no different and decided to share with us a wonderful part of their weekend routine. Taking their road bikes up and back along the Del Mar coast line. They typically start their weekend bike rides near their home in Carmel Valley. From there they beeline over to Del Mar and head north cycling along the coast through Solana Beach, up into Encinitas, and finally stop for a snack in Carlsbad before making the venture back. For our shoot with Kian and Stephanie, they picked some of their favorite spots along their route so we could experience what they loved best about them. The dog beach in Del Mar has a lovely little pedestrian bridge, and a spot to take in an excellent view out to the ocean and across the water way to the race track. Once in the town of Solana Beach a stop at the Train station was a must for all of us. The Station has unique angular architecture and wonderful little spots to sneak a photo or a kiss. From there a stop and a coffee at the Pannikin was in order. The weather was cool and overcast for the start of our photos but we were so happy when the sun came out for our final stop at the Carlsbad state beach. There is nothing better to end an engagement shoot than sun warmed sand, blue skies and the waves lapping at your feet.
Thanks Kian and Stephanie, we had so much fun traveling to all theses great locations with you!
