This destination snow engagement shoot for R+J has us yearning for another winter storm. These two love birds recently got engaged while they were on a trip in Australia, and if that isn’t romantic I don’t know what is. These avid travelers wanted a fun and unique engagement shoot to fit their personalities and with an approaching winter storm we figured the local mountains with fresh snow would be a great idea for their engagement photos. We commandeered ourselves a little cabin for the weekend and woke up on a Saturday morning to a true winter wonderland, with the snow shimmering and sparkling in the sun. When the light was just right we headed out past the town of Prescott and up into the hills. We found a campground closed for winter with fields of untouched snow and groves of spectacular forest just perfect for engagement photos. R and J were armed with hot chocolate, blankets and a vintage sled while we armed ourselves with cameras. Off into the snow we went.
The props for R+J’s engagement were just perfect. I mean a vintage sled still needs to see the snow every now and again. We apparently had the wrong kind of snow to get the sled to go anywhere but it sure was a fun prop. R and J put together such cute outfits for their engagement shoot. We understand the stress of figuring out what to wear for your photos and these guys did such a great job! An old silver thermos kept the hot chocolate from getting cold while we all played in the snow for a while. After some long strolls in the forest, a couple snowball fights and a secluded moment under their plaid blanket it was time for the magic of liquid chocolate. Red enamel camping mugs are a must for your hot chocolate and marshmallows after a long day of snowball fights.R+J rocked this snow engagement shoot and we are so happy they followed us into that forest.
