We found ourselves in possession of a cumbersome pile of old wood, and what better way to dispose of it then with a beach bonfire. We discovered recently that not only does Fiesta Island have enormous fire pits but that it’s also dog friendly. It was last minute and very spontaneous, but we loaded down the truck with our wood, tossed the doggies in the car and headed off for a Bonfire. Luckily it wasn’t too crowded on Fiesta Island so we were able to find a fire pit we liked right away. It overlooked the water Skiing Jumps out in the bay, so we got a nice show from a couple skiers as we set up our spot. The dogs were in heaven, with all the sand, seaweed, and generally doggie smells. We let everyone off their leashes including Brett. Maggie however had to be regulated and put back on leash almost immediately. She’s going deaf in her old age. All the smells were so intoxicating to her that she kept wandering off and couldn’t hear us calling her back. Of if she did hear us (which I think she can sometimes) she just blatantly refused to come back to us. We all had a great time cooking hotdogs, roasting marshmallows, and making a really big fire. Fiesta Island is one of our new favorite places in San Diego. We can’t wait to gather up enough wood to warrant another bonfire.
On April 25rd we had the pleasure of joining Bridget and Danny on their wedding day. The two of them had met in high school and lost touch over the years. Then finally on a trip back home later in life they reconnected and have been inseparable ever since.
Their ceremony took place at the beautiful Santa Anita Church in Arcadia. Between the georgous gardens, and the lush green grounds you can almost not find a bad place to take a picture. What a fantastic church. After the ceremony we got Bridget and Danny all to ourselves for a few hours and really came up with some great shots. A family friend from The Eagle Rock Trompers classic car club, chauffeured them around in his beautiful 36 Ford hot rod. We made sure to get some great pictures of the newlyweds with their amazing ride.
When the portraits were finished, we followed Bridget and Danny into The Rococo Room at Cafe Santorini for the reception. Known for its fantastic Mediterranean dishes, they could not have picked a better place to let the drinks, dancing and toasts go long into the night. Thanks for the great time and the good memories.

As a born and raised local, summer in San Diego brings to mind cotton candy at the county fair, extravagantly over sized hats on race day, and “divot stomping” after a heated polo match! This month we got together with Nacole Gray, the creator of one of San Diego’s newest hip fashion blogs Rich Skinny Pretty, for some fun on the turf. To promote the opening of polo season and SD Polo’s 2010 apparel, Nacole arranged a really fun photo-shoot with the girls from Rich Skinny Pretty at the Ranch Santa Fe Polo Club. Riviera Magazine is sponsoring this year’s Opening Day at the Polo Club, and Nacole Gray is putting together and styling the fashion show. We are so excited to see what trends she reveals for us this season. The first match begins at 1:00 pm on Sunday June 13th. For more information on tickets and tailgaiting have a look at www.sandiegopolo.com. This event is not to be missed, so don’t forget your floppy hats and cute wedges! The first match begins at 1:00 pm on Sunday June 13th. Check out more photos from this shoot and fashion tips from Nacole at Rich Skinny Pretty.com
We had such a great time hanging out with Gracie Rae and her dad Rick at Regi’s Ranch. Rick asked us out to take come pictures of them, so when we got there Gracie was all ready to go looking like the perfect little cowgirl in her Wranglers, pink cowgirl shirt and matching John Deer boots. Gracie showed us her sweet little pony, and she did such a great job of leading him around. Rick was so glad we came out and took pictures of Gracie when we did, because a couple weeks later (as most girls do at some point or another) Gracie took a pair of scissors to her hair while no-one was looking. Now she has a cute little bob that totally suits her.
